Remote hiring scams are on the rise. Learn the warning signs, and report a suspicious company from its profile page to protect other job seekers.

To report a scam, open the company's page and use “Report a scam”.

Types of scams to watch for

Fake recruiter
Someone impersonating a company recruiter to harvest data or money.
Ghosting
A company that vanishes after interviews or offers, wasting your time.
Identity theft
Requests for SSN, passport or bank details under false pretenses.
Payment scam
Demands for upfront payment for equipment, training or 'fees'.
Interview scam
Fake interviews designed to extract personal or financial information.
Fake website
A cloned or fraudulent site impersonating a legitimate company.
Other
Any other suspicious or fraudulent hiring behavior.
Safety checklist
  • Verify the recruiter's email domain matches the company's official website.
  • Never pay for equipment, training or background checks up front.
  • Be wary of interviews conducted only over chat apps like Telegram.
  • Confirm the company exists and is claimed/verified before sharing personal data.
  • Cross-check the job posting on the company's official careers page.
